Goodbye Mr. Muffin

by Teater Refleksion and Teatret De Rode Heste

"It takes a lot of thought, finesse and humanity to come up with a play about death that is gentle, unthreatening and yet direct as well as refreshingly free from deceptions and morbid sentimentality. But that is what Denmark's Teater Refleksion and De Rode Heste achieves."

The Herald, Edinburgh

Once upon a time Mr. Muffin was young, strong and proud. He could carry a whole cucumber on his back! Now he is tired and grey, and sits alone in his house remembering.

He’s had a good life, so he makes a list:
1 very wise and kind wife
1 little house with its own mail box
4 furry little kids
And sometimes mail in the mail box.

Goodbye Mr. Muffin is a storytelling performance with three performers. In an atmosphere of warmth, humour and respect, they tell the story of the last days in the life of a beloved guinea pig.

Because Mr. Muffin is not well and is about to die. That’s sad, and everybody left behind grieves. But Mr. Muffin has had a good life. And maybe death is nothing to fear.
