Worldwide, curfews aimed at young people are enforced as a “crime prevention measure”.
More than 700 U.S. cities have enforced teen curfews and, in 2003, the British police gained power to enforce youth curfews at will. In Australia, some already exist – many people say successfully while others disagree, making the national debate passionate, controversial and ongoing.
Urban Myth Theatre of Youth tackles this issue with their latest production Curfew. A cross section of the community is working collaboratively with young people and arts professionals from many of South Australia’s youth arts agencies to investigate, debate and create this new theatrical choral epic.
Curfew has a cast of over 400 choristers, actors, physical performers and musicians from across the State.
Don’t miss this major piece of work of epic proportions never seen by youth theatre in Australia.
