atyp’s Fresh Ink National Young Writers camp, powers into Adelaide

The Australian Theatre for Young People’s Fresh Ink National Young Writers camp will take place within the 16th ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival, 12 – 16 May, 2008.

Since 2000, Australia’s leading theatre company for young people, atyp, has conducted an annual national performance studio.  This intensive program gathers representatives from small and large youth theatre companies from every state and territory in Australia in the one location for master class workshops, peer-to-peer exchange and professional development.

Each year the studio has focused on different areas of the performing arts. In 2008 the focus turns to writing for live performance, as part of atyp’s new development program for your playwrights, Fresh Ink.

Young writers and performers from around Australia will come to Adelaide and engage in workshops with leading Australian writers and master classes with visiting international artists, and see some of the best theatre for young audiences.

The Fresh Ink National Young Writers Camp will also intersect with key programs in the ASSITEJ program, including Next Gen and Playwright Slam.

If you are a young writer with an idea go to http://www.atyp.com.au/page/freshink/ and register for the program.
